We all have Gifts
We all have our own unique talents. Some of us can sing, others can dance and some have less creative skills like the ability to organize. Even if a person doesn’t think they have a skill or talent, it’s deep inside them just waiting to be discovered. Gifts are referred to as a creative natural ability or aptitude, a special ability that a person is born with and they come in different forms, – from art to sports, leadership to teaching.
Sharing your Gifts with the World
These talents shouldn’t go unused. A person should really utilize whatever talents they possess and there’s not better way than to share them with the world! Our society is currently obsessed with being selfish. We’re not a society that prides itself on giving, but more on taking, which is something that must be changed. One way to do that is by using our God-given abilities to serve and benefit others. No matter how small or mundane these talents are, they should be shared with the world. There are people out there that could really benefit from even the simplest skill, which could change their lives forever. People just need to stop using their talents to benefit themselves and share them with everyone else.
Exercise your Gifts
Just like how you exercise to stay in shape, your talent needs to be exercised so that it can grow and flourish, which is what happens when it’s shared. If you don’t, it’ll be lost and useless. As you exercise your talents and bestow them on the world, you’re sending starting a movement that may possible spread like wildfire.
Make A Difference
Artists share their talents with the world for profit, but even if you can’t make money from your talent, it should still be shared. If you’re a singer, then teach someone to sing or if you’re a dancer, provide dancing lessons for kids. It doesn’t have to be something extravagant either, for reaching and touching just one life with your gift is enough to really make a difference. And if your gift is only encouragement, service, hospitability or teaching, that’s enough to provide to many in need. These gifts are just as important, or even more important, than something like dancing, singing or acting. It’s these types of gifts that mean more to people in the long run.
Creating a “Pass It On” Movement
Sharing your gifts will also impact others who were touched with what you were able to do for them to pass along their own gift with the world, causing a positive chain of reactions across the globe. The work we do in Voices Of Asia is all about serving others with your talents. Today we have leaders who serve as volunteer mentors, fund-raisers, speakers, storytellers, and even training others to cook so that they can make a living. One common thing these volunteers have is that they were once blessed, and now they choose to bless someone else.
It’s time to start thinking of others first and sharing your gifts is the best way to start.
